Day Treatment Program for Drug Addiction, Alcoholism & Mental Health in Utah

What is Day Treatment?

Day treatment is a great transition for individuals leaving residential treatment who have more work to do on their recovery journeys. Day treatment is a partial-hospitalization program for adults and teens suffering with addiction or mental disorders, and consists of 25 hours per week of groups and/or services each week. It is more intensive than an outpatient program, but unlike residential programs, those in recovery return to their homes each night. Our comprehensive day treatment program is personalized to meet the needs of each individual who entrusts us with their care. The goal of day treatment is to progress the client to an outpatient program and keep them moving forward with all the support they need.

Is Behavioral Health Day Treatment Right for You or Your Loved One?

Each person’s needs will determine their treatment plan, but generally, day treatment will consist of the following:

  • Medical Services: We can perform genetic testing to help you learn what medications work for you AND what precise dose based on your unique genetic makeup. This is an invaluable service for those in our day treatment program who are taking medication for their behavioral and mental health.
  • Individual Therapy: One-on-one counseling with a therapist can help you manage thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a positive way. Our therapy sessions are designed to help you identify issues and equip you with strategies to change unwanted thoughts or behaviors.
  • Group Therapy: Group therapy allows individuals to learn and gain insight from other people’s experiences and to practice productive communication skills with the guidance of a skilled counselor.
  • Family Therapy: Family Therapy empowers the individual to see the effects that their behavior or condition is having on their loved ones. It also gives the family members insight into the struggle that the inflicted individual is going through, making it easier for them to understand and really help their loved one.
  • Relapse Prevention: Towards the end of treatment, a trained addiction specialist will work with you to help you become aware of your own relapse triggers and create new relapse prevention skills.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Residential Rehab?
Residential Treatment is a place where clients can live outside of their regular environment in a facility that offers supervision and support and therapeutic interventions for those in early recovery. A client will eat and sleep at the facility. Clients participate in a clinically driven program daily to gain skills to maintain recovery. Residential treatment puts you or your loved one under our care 24 hours per day.
Residential treatment works by removing the person from the toxic environment and putting them in a safe, quiet environment that promotes a healthy and whole place to work on themselves. Clients gain tools and skills that will assist them in addressing core issues that have caused maladaptive coping skills, such as drugs and alcohol use. Inpatient treatment provides support through skilled staff that is available 24 hours per day to assist in the process of healing.
Upon checking into residential treatment, you will see a medical provider to ensure that you clear to begin the treatment program. You will have an intake with trained staff and assigned a room and be introduced to your peers. You will meet with clinical staff for a complete assessment, be briefed on what to expect during residential treatment. You will also be given an opportunity to participate in creating a treatment plan and provide input on areas of your life you would like to work on.
